What of this filthy "Culture of Life" that justifies everything from protecting the persistent vegetative exisitence of Terri Schiavo to slaughtering innocent men women and children in the name of feedom and democracy? I know that this topic has gotten considerable commentary from the DKos community, but, shit, it's about time I put in my two cents.
More after the Flip...
"Narrowly targeted" or not (Sensenbrenner, R-WI), the cult behind the legislation
protecting Terri Schiavo have won an important first victory in legally enshrining
the "Culture of Life" in American law. Their work will continue unabated until
the private, moral decisions of Americans nationwide -- whether personal or
familial -- are increasingly, if not wholly governed, by their perversions of
Biblical teaching.
Consider the following quotes:
"Yes, hate is good ... if a Christian voted for Clinton, he sinned against
God. It's that simple. Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a biblical duty,
we are called by God to conquer this country...-- Randall Terry, former leader
of Operation Rescue and current spokesmen for Terri Schiavo's parents.
It's easy to dismiss this misguided prick as a freak, but he just succeeded
in moving the Congress to prevent a husband from fulfilling his marital commitment
to his wife to love, honor and protect her in sickness and in health.
"The long-term goal of Christians in politics should be to gain exclusive
control over the franchise. Those who refuse to submit publicly to the eternal
sanctions of God by submitting to His Church's public marks of the covenant--baptism
and holy communion--must be denied citizenship, just as they were in ancient
Israel." -- Gary North - Political Polytheism: The Myth of Pluralism, Tyler,
TX: Institute for Christian Economics, 1989, p. 87
That's good conservative economic thinking! If baptism and holy communion became
the criteria for citizenship, the government could significantly scale back
the INS by replacing employees with a devout cadre of revivalists ready to save
the souls of immigrants with a proverbial dip in New York's East River, followed
by snake healing ceremonies at the feet of Lady Liberty.
"The issue is not whether abortion or euthanasia should be illegal, but
whether Christians should ever make what men call "legal" the limit of what
they do to love their neighbor." -- Joseph Lapsley
Foreman, co-founder of Operation Rescue, Shattering the Darkness
Of course, "loving one's neighbor" is light years away from Christ's biblical
message and example. Their Christ -- for fun let's call him "O-PAC-O-LYPSE"
-- is a ruthless, gangsta mutherfucker with love only for his like minded homies
and a cocked 9mm for any "punk ass beaaatch," who's wearing blue instead of
red politically. Christ's true teaching of "loving one another as I have loved
you" really meant "Puttin' in work" for the cause of the unborn: assassinating
abortion doctors, terrorizing emotionally distraught women in their exercise
of a constitutional right; bringing cities to their financial knees with violent
protests and, a la Eric Rudolph, terrorist bombings akin to attacks in Israel
and Baghdad.
"The Unborn child is a person, not property; our neighbor, not our belonging.
It seems that even among the Church, an unborn child is viewed as property,
rather than our neighbor. We are not concerned with trying to reach out to them
with the Gospel and we deem them to be of less value than our own property.
Most Christians would be more willing to die fighting for their property than
protect an innocent child from death." - Michael J. Foht, Missionary
To The Preborn
How 'bout that! Women and couples who make the painful decision to abort are
"less valuable" than a pro-lifer's own property, which likely includes their
double-wide trailer, autographed Dale Earnhart beer can insulator and the plastic
scrotum hanging from their trailer hitch.
"Most politically active Christians don't want equal time with homosexuals,
abortionists, animal worshipping pagans, witches, radical feminists and pornographers.
We want them silenced and mercifully disciplined according to the word of God."
- Jay Rogers reviewing Ralph Reed's Politically Incorrect in "Chalcedon Report,"
2/95
Here's hoping that one of these freaks tries to "mercifully discipline"
me. :)
